In a world where everything is Square we often forget that our album artwork used to come in a rectangular shape. That shape, was a Cassette Tape Case and, temporarily ruled the portable music market, because long before the iPod you had the groundbreaking Sony Walkman. Recently I purchased a 1987 Ford Mustang GT and it's about as stock as they come which means that nestled in the center console was the stock tape deck and an original Ford Dealership demo tape. This inspired me to hop on illustrator and photoshop and see just how some of my favorite modern albums would look within the rectangular confines of a Cassette Case. Now to find a tape recorder and some blanks, so I can bump these in the convertible and let the top back this summer.
